HALO 5000/50100 12" LP series
It appears that Eli Oberstein was hoping to project a more angelic image after the embarassing revelation of his release of pirated broadcasts of Wagner's Ring. As with many of his products, there is a jump in the numbering system, here between 5099 and 50100. Halo numbering appears to be derived from the Varsity/Concertone/Gramophone 2000/20100 series and all copies examined bear a 1957 copyright. Late pressings of this (and most of Oberstein's 12-inch label series) appear on the Ultraphonic label with album copyright of 1958. Significant gaps remain in this listing and any additional details are welcome.
